Turn-based combat is similar to the XCOM series of games which utilizes a grid-based system. While the main campaign still follows the major story beats, character development is based on a procedural generation system, meaning that each playthrough will be different from one another. These characters will also form both friendship or rival relationship with each other, and will age as time progresses. Gradually, these character will grow into battle-hardened heroes and acquire new traits, which will lead to both additional narrative and gameplay opportunities. At the beginning of the game, the player will choose from several randomized characters. Wildermyth is a tactical role-playing game. The game received generally positive reviews upon release, with praise mostly directed at the game's use of procedural generation for storytelling. A Nintendo Switch version is currently in development. It went well enough with 4 players, but I'm not sure if things would be better if we split the party more or not. Overall I quite enjoyed the time I spent with it though, and I did appreciate since I was nearby I was able to take the blow that would've been fatal for my son to protect him from long term damage, granted my character is a mage with perm -4 hp now so she is likely not long for this world, or at the very least is going to be very careful about getting near anything lol. Huh? who's the dad? when did this happen? why didn't I know I had a son lol? Your character had a child 18 years ago and wants to join you. my character doesn't seem to have any interest in anyone. that's fine that friend found a traveler. Oh now my friend's character is showing interest in the other person.
